Biography
Frank Ferguson was an American character actor who appeared in nearly 200 feature films and hundreds of television episodes. Born Frank Swinton Ferguson on 25 December 1899 in Ferndale, California, he died in Los Angeles on 12 September 1978.
He trained and performed at the Pasadena Community Playhouse, where he also directed and taught. His film debut came in Gambling on the High Seas (1940). He is known for roles including Marshal Williams in Johnny Guitar (1954), Mr McDougal in Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948), and recurring parts such as Gus Broeberg in the series My Friend Flicka and Eli Carson in Peyton Place and Return to Peyton Place.
