Biography
Franke Previte is an American singer, songwriter and composer. He was the lead singer of the 1980s band Franke and the Knockouts, which had several US Top 40 hits including 'Sweetheart' in 1981.
Previte co-wrote the song '(I've Had) The Time of My Life' for the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, with John DeNicola and Donald Markowitz. The track, performed by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, as well as a Golden Globe. He also co-wrote 'Hungry Eyes' for the same soundtrack. His other film credits include music for Mystic Pizza (1988) and Get Out (2017).
