Biography
František Zvarík (1921–2008) was a Slovak actor. He trained at the Music and Drama Academy in Bratislava and joined the Slovak National Theatre as a student in 1939, becoming a permanent member of its drama company in 1940. He remained with the theatre for over fifty years and appeared in around two dozen Czechoslovak and Slovak films from the 1940s onwards.
Zvarík is known for his supporting role as the town commander Markuš Kolkotský in the 1965 film The Shop on Main Street, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He was married to actress Eva Krížiková.
