Biography
Franziska Troegner is a German actress. She was born on 18 July 1954 in East Berlin and trained as an actress at the Berliner Ensemble after completing her schooling.
Troegner was a member of the Berliner Ensemble from 1976 until 1993 and appeared in several Bertolt Brecht productions, including Mother Courage and Her Children, The Threepenny Opera and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Her film and television work includes roles in German productions such as Johann Sebastian Bach (1985) and Heidi M. (2001). She is also known for playing Mrs. Gloop in the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Troegner is the daughter of actor and director Werner Troegner and was married to actor and director Ulrich Thein until his death in 1995. In 2009 she published her autobiography Fürs Schubfach zu dick.
