Biography
Frederic Hamen was a British actor and assistant director active in American silent films in the 1910s. Born on 18 September 1873 in Manchester, Lancashire, England, he appeared in supporting and minor roles, often credited as Fred Hamer, and worked on productions associated with D.W. Griffith.
His credits include an uncredited minor role and assistant director credit on The Birth of a Nation (1915), the role of Bill in A Man and His Mate (1915), appearances in The She-Devil (1916) and The Great Radium Mystery (1919), a secondary role (uncredited) in Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919), and the part of Briggs in The Flaming Disc (1920). He died on 30 December 1953 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
