Biography
Frederick Stephani (1903–1962) was a German-born screenwriter, director and producer who worked in Hollywood. He emigrated to the United States in 1923 and later became a US citizen. His early screenwriting credits include the 1931 film Dracula.
Stephani is best known for co-writing and directing the 1936 Universal serial Flash Gordon. He also wrote the story for the 1947 film It Happened on Fifth Avenue, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for best original story. He continued to write, direct and produce feature films and television episodes until the early 1960s.
