Biography
Gabriel Katzka (1931–1990) was an American theatre, film and television producer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School and graduated from Kenyon College. His father, a lawyer with investments in Broadway productions, influenced his early interest in the industry.
Katzka began working in production in his early twenties. He produced numerous Broadway shows, including Barefoot in the Park and Comedians, and was associated with Alexander H. Cohen on several presentations. In film, he produced Kelly's Heroes (1970), The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974), Who'll Stop the Rain (1978) and The Falcon and the Snowman (1985). He also executive produced the Emmy-winning miniseries Ellis Island (1984).
Katzka died of a heart attack in New York City on 19 February 1990. He was married to Carol Ward Dudley Katzka and they had a son, Edward Dudley Katzka.
