Biography
Garreth Stover is an American production designer and director. He studied at the Art Center in Pasadena and received a BFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by postgraduate studies in biochemistry at Columbia University. He began his career as a camera assistant before moving into the art department as a set decorator and then production designer.
Stover’s production design credits include the films While You Were Sleeping (1995), Phenomenon (1996), The Kid (2000), Daddy Day Care (2003), 13 Going on 30 (2004), 17 Again (2009) and Christmas with the Kranks (2004), as well as the series Californication (2007), The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017) and Dynasty (2017–2021). He has also directed second-unit work on several features.
He directed three episodes of The Vampire Diaries between 2013 and 2016. In 2015 he wrote and directed the short film Headlock, which won Best International Short at the Paris Arts and Music Awards.
