Biography
Gary Winick was an American film director and producer. He directed 13 Going on 30 (2004), Charlotte's Web (2006), Bride Wars (2009) and Letters to Juliet (2010). Earlier credits include Tadpole (2002), which he also wrote the story for.
Winick was born in New York City and graduated from Tufts University in 1984. He later received Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the AFI Conservatory. He founded the independent production company InDigEnt in 1999 and produced films including Pieces of April (2003) and Personal Velocity (2002), the latter earning the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award.
Winick died in New York City in 2011.
