Biography

Gavin Kelly, ASC is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles. A native of San Diego, he studied visual arts at the University of California, San Diego, where he won two student Emmys, and later earned an MFA in film production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He received an ASC Student Heritage Award honourable mention for the short film A Kiss on the Nose.

Kelly served as director of photography on four seasons of the anthology series American Horror Story (2011). His other television credits include the pilot and episodes of 9-1-1 (2018), the pilot of The Equalizer (2021), Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019–2023) and Little America (2020). He also shot the Oscar-winning short West Bank Story (2005). Feature credits include Cabin Fever (2016) and The Midnight Man (2016). He joined the American Society of Cinematographers in 2023.
