Biography
George Akers is a British film editor. He began his career in the 1970s as an assistant editor on productions including Cross of Iron (1977) and Superman (1978).
Akers has edited numerous feature films, including Caravaggio (1986), Wish You Were Here (1987), Erik the Viking (1989), Edward II (1991), Carrington (1995) and Imagining Argentina (2003). In 1993 he received an Australian Film Institute nomination for Best Achievement in Editing for Map of the Human Heart.
