Biography
George Axelrod (9 June 1922 – 21 June 2003) was an American screenwriter, producer and playwright. He began his career writing for radio and television before achieving success as a playwright with The Seven Year Itch (1952).
His screenplays include adaptations of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) and The Manchurian Candidate (1962), on which he also served as producer. He received an Academy Award nomination for the former. Other credits include Bus Stop (1956), Paris When It Sizzles (1964) and How to Murder Your Wife (1965). He later directed Lord Love a Duck (1966).
