Biography
George Tillman Jr. is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. Born on 26 January 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 1991 with a degree in film and video.
He directed the features Soul Food (1997), Men of Honor (2000), Notorious (2009), Faster (2010), The Hate U Give (2018) and Big George Foreman (2023). Tillman has also directed episodes of the television series This Is Us (2016), Marvel's Luke Cage (2016), Power (2014) and For Life (2020). He produced the Barbershop film series.
