Biography
George Walsh (also credited as George Frederick Walsh) was an American actor active in silent and early sound films. Born in New York City, he was an all-around athlete who played college football and briefly appeared with the Brooklyn Dodgers before an injury prompted a move to California and a film career beginning around 1914.
Walsh appeared in approximately 80 productions between 1914 and 1936, often in athletic or leading roles during the silent era. He is noted for appearances in Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916) and Cleopatra (1934). In 1932 his brother, director Raoul Walsh, cast him as Duke Castenega in Me and My Gal. He was married to actress Seena Owen from 1916 to 1922.
