Biography
George White (20 August 1911 – 15 February 1998) was an American film editor. He began working as a Hollywood editor in 1942 and spent most of his career at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
His credits include Bataan (1943), The Clock (1945), The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), Green Dolphin Street (1947), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing, The Naked Spur (1953), The Band Wagon (1953), The Silver Chalice (1954) and The Phenix City Story (1955). He retired after editing The Navy vs. the Night Monsters (1966).
