Biography
Ghita Nørby is a Danish actress. Born in Copenhagen, she is the daughter of opera singer Einar Nørby and studied for two years at the Danish Royal Theatre, where she was employed from 1956 to 1959.
She has appeared in more than 100 films and numerous television productions since her debut in 1956. She is known for her voice role as narrator in Babette's Feast (1987), her performance as Rigmor Mortensen in The Kingdom (1994) and its sequels, and roles in The Best Intentions (1992), Hamsun (1996) and Everlasting Moments (2008). Nørby has received multiple awards, including the Ingenio et Arti medal in 2006, and has been nominated for Guldbagge and Bodil awards.
