Biography
Giantito Burchiellaro is an Italian production designer and scenographer. Born on 9 February 1940 in Venice, he began his career in the mid-1960s as an assistant in the art department.
His early credits include set decoration on Juliet of the Spirits (1965) for Federico Fellini. He went on to work as production designer or art director on numerous Italian films, including Fracchia The Human Beast (1981), The Monster (1994), The Bachelor (1990) and Modigliani (2004), as well as international productions such as Harrison's Flowers (2000).
Burchiellaro received the Nastro d'Argento for best scenography in 1996 for According to Pereira (1995) and in 2003 for The Soul Keeper (2002), and the Ciak d'oro in 1998 for The Prince of Homburg (1997).
