Biography
Gilberto Idonea (also credited as Gilberto Idone) was an Italian actor born on 18 June 1946 in Catania, Sicily. He made his film debut in Turi e i paladini (1979) and appeared in numerous films and television productions until his death on 5 October 2018 in Catania.
He is known for roles including Centorbi the Lawyer in Malena (2000), Hitman in The Consequences of Love (2004), and appearances in Nati stanchi (2002), The Second Wedding Night (2005) and A Dinner for Them to Meet (2007). On television he played Ciccio Monaco in Inspector Montalbano, Quinto Belli in Father Matteo, and roles in The Octopus (La piovra) series, including Avvocato Edoardo Rittone. He also performed in stage work, including a one-man show homage to Angelo Musco.
