Biography
Giuliani G. De Negri, born Gaetano De Negri, was an Italian film producer and screenwriter. He fought with the Italian Resistance during the Second World War under the nom de guerre Giuliani, which he later used professionally. After the war he worked with director Carlo Lizzani on films including Achtung! Banditi! (1951), for which he served as executive producer and co-writer.
From 1961 he produced all the feature films of Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, often acting as a co-author, and co-wrote several of their screenplays. His credits include Padre Padrone (1977), The Night of the Shooting Stars (1982), Kaos (1984) and Good Morning, Babylon (1987). He also produced films directed by Valentino Orsini.
De Negri received the David di Donatello for Best Producer for The Night of the Shooting Stars in 1983 and for Kaos in 1985, as well as the Nastro d'Argento for Best Screenplay for the former. He died in Rome in 1992.
