Biography
Griffin Matthews is an American actor, writer and director. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.F.A. in musical theatre.
Matthews is known for television roles including Rafe in The Mentalist (2012), Shane Evans in The Flight Attendant (2020–2022), Luke Jacobson in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022), Bayard Rustin in Genius (2024) and Teddy Lockwood in You (2025). He co-founded the nonprofit UgandaProject in 2005 and co-wrote the musical Witness Uganda (later Invisible Thread) with his husband Matt Gould; the work received Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theatre.
