Biography
Gunnel Broström was a Swedish actress and director. She studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school from 1941 to 1943, making her stage debut in 1942 and her film debut the same year in Rid i natt!. She was engaged at the Royal Dramatic Theatre and appeared in productions including the 1946 staging of Stängda dörrar.
Broström acted in around thirty films and many television roles. Her credits include Salka Valka (1954) and Wild Strawberries (1957), in which she played Mrs Alman. From 1958 she worked primarily in television, and from 1965 she directed a number of television films and theatre productions. She received several awards, including the Svenska Dagbladets Thaliapris in 1964.
She was married to the journalist Gustaf Olivecrona.
