Biography
Hale Akınlı (also credited as Hale Akinli) was a Turkish actress who worked in theatre, film and television. She began her career with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres in 1967 and remained active with the company for more than thirty-five years, appearing in numerous stage productions including adaptations of works by Fakir Baykurt, Nezihe Meriç and Aziz Nesin. She also performed voice work for TRT and private television channels.
On screen she is known for her role as Seyran in Yol (also known as The Road, 1982), directed by Şerif Gören and Zeki Ökten from a screenplay by Yılmaz Güney. Other film credits include On Kadın (1987) and Uçurtmayı Vurmasınlar (Don't Let Them Shoot the Kite, 1989), in which she played Sümbül. She received a Sadri Alışık Theatre Award in 2005 for her performance in Hadi Öldürsene Canikom.
Akınlı was married to fellow actor Hamit Akınlı from 1967 until his death in 2013. She continued working on stage and screen into her later years and died in Istanbul on 13 December 2019.
