Biography
Hans Kwiet was a German actor and television producer. Born on 27 April 1931 in Halle, he trained at the theatre school of the Deutsches Theater Berlin from 1948 to 1950 and began his career on stage and in early East German films, including appearances in Der Froschkönig (1954) and Das kalte Herz (1950).
From the 1970s he worked primarily as a producer for Sender Freies Berlin (SFB), overseeing numerous television films and series. He produced the historical mini-series Heimat (1984), directed by Edgar Reitz, as well as titles such as Dorian Gray im Spiegel der Boulevardpresse (1984), Einmal Ku'damm und zurück (1985) and Der Geschichtenerzähler (1989). Kwiet died on 15 March 2005 in Hamburg.
