Biography
Hans Zander was a German actor. Born in Hamburg on 9 January 1937, he trained at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Hamburg under Eduard Marks and made his stage debut at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus. He later worked at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel and other Munich theatres, and from 1983 directed the Münchner Boulevardtheater im Künstlerhaus am Lenbachplatz.
Zander appeared in numerous films and television productions from the late 1950s. His credits include the role of Barman Springer in Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Fox and His Friends (1975), appearances in Berlin Alexanderplatz (1980) and Despair (1978, scenes deleted), and multiple episodes of the series Derrick. He died in Munich on 27 February 1991.
