Biography
Harris Wittels was an American comedian, writer, producer and actor. After graduating from Emerson College in 2006, he moved to Los Angeles and began performing stand-up comedy. Sarah Silverman saw him perform and hired him as a writer on her Comedy Central series The Sarah Silverman Program in 2007.
Wittels joined the writing staff of Parks and Recreation before its second season in 2009, rising to co-executive producer. He also appeared on the series as the recurring character Harris, an animal control officer. He wrote for other series including Eastbound & Down and Secret Girlfriend, and coined the term 'humblebrag', which became the subject of a 2012 book. He received a story credit on the first season of Master of None, which was dedicated to him after his death.
Wittels died on 19 February 2015 in Los Angeles, aged 30.
