Biography
Harry Behn (1898–1973) was an American screenwriter and children's author. He graduated from Harvard University in 1922 and began working as a scenario writer in Hollywood in the mid-1920s.
Behn contributed to several silent films directed by King Vidor, including the scenario for The Big Parade (1925), Proud Flesh (1925) and La Bohème (1926). He also worked on The Crowd (1928) and provided the adaptation for Hell's Angels (1930).
After his film career, Behn taught creative writing at the University of Arizona from 1938 to 1947 and founded the University of Arizona Press in 1960. He published poetry and numerous books for children.
