Biography
Harry Jackson (15 April 1896 – 3 August 1953) was an American cinematographer. Born in Nebraska, he began his career in Hollywood as a still photographer for Warner Brothers before working as a cinematographer from the end of the silent era in 1927 until his death.
He shot around 75 films, with credits including director of photography on Mother Wore Tights (1947), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Colour Cinematography, Anne of the Indies (1951), Halls of Montezuma (1951) and The Band Wagon (1953). He also contributed camera work on Lifeboat (1944).
