Biography
Heinz Bennent was a German actor. After the Second World War he trained in Göttingen and began a stage career that included work at theatres in Karlsruhe, Bochum, Basel, Bonn, Hannover and Hamburg.
He appeared in numerous films and television productions, including as Greff in The Tin Drum (1979) and as Lucas Steiner in The Last Metro (1980). He moved to Switzerland in the 1970s and remained there until his death. Bennent was nominated for a César Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Last Metro.
His children, Anne Bennent and David Bennent, both work as actors.
