Biography
Henny Vrienten was a Dutch composer, musician and singer. He was best known as the bassist and lead vocalist of the ska and pop band Doe Maar, which rose to prominence in the Netherlands in the early 1980s.
Following the band's initial break-up in 1984, Vrienten concentrated on film and television scoring. His credits include The Vanishing (1988) and Sonny Boy (2011). He also composed for musicals such as Ciske de Rat and Petticoat, and succeeded Harry Bannink as composer for the children's programmes Sesamstraat and Het Klokhuis.
