Biography
Henri Guisol (12 October 1904 – 11 May 1994) was a French actor. Born in Aix-en-Provence, he trained at the Conservatoire de Toulouse before moving to Paris in the late 1920s, where he began a long stage career that spanned five decades and included work with directors Charles Dullin and Patrice Chéreau.
He appeared in more than seventy films between 1931 and 1976, often in supporting roles in French productions. Early credits include La Chienne (1931) and The Crime of Monsieur Lange (1936). Later roles encompass Bizarre, Bizarre (1937), Lola Montès (1955) as Horseman Maurice, and The Count of Monte Cristo (1961) as L'abbé Faria. He also worked in television from the late 1950s to 1980.
Guisol was married to actress Marthe Alycia. He retired from acting in 1979 and settled in Saint-Raphaël, Var.
