Biography
Hera Hilmar, also credited as Hera Hilmarsdóttir, is an Icelandic actress. Born in Reykjavík on 27 December 1988, she began acting as a child and has worked in film and television since 1995. She is the daughter of film director Hilmar Oddsson and actress Þórey Sigþórsdóttir, and graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2011.
Her credits include the role of WPC Boyle in the 2014 film Get Santa and Paulina in the 2012 series Leaving. She is known for playing Vanessa Moschella in Da Vinci's Demons (2013–2015), Hester Shaw in Mortal Engines (2018), and Maghra in See (2019–2022). Hilmar has won two Edda Awards for leading roles in Icelandic films: for Life in a Fishbowl (2014) in 2015 and for The Oath (2016) in 2017.
