Biography
Herb Mitchell was an American actor. Born Herbert L. Mitchell Jr. in Bar Harbor, Maine, he worked as a stockbroker before turning to acting in the early 1970s. He began in community theatre in Maine, notably playing Tevye in a production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Mitchell appeared in numerous films and television series. His film credits include Innerspace (1987), Gettysburg (1993), The Last Seduction (1994) as Bob Trotter, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Ali (2001). On television he had a recurring role as Judge Rodney White in The Practice and guest appearances in series including Cheers, Seinfeld, ER and The West Wing. He also worked in commercials and as a director and teacher.
