Biography
Hilly Hicks, Jr. is an American television writer and producer. He was born on 11 May 1970 in Los Angeles, California, and is the son of actor and clergyman Hilly Hicks.
He trained at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and Columbia University. His television writing credits include episodes of Pasadena (2002), Kidnapped (2007), Army Wives (2007), The Big C (2010–2012), Chicago Fire (2012–2014), Jessica Jones (2015–2019), Feed the Beast (2016), Sacred Lies (2020), Truth Be Told (2021) and Dexter: Resurrection (2025), for which he received story and teleplay credits on one episode. He has also worked as a producer on several of these series.
Hicks began his career as a playwright, with productions commissioned by theatres including La Jolla Playhouse and South Coast Repertory. He has received the Berilla Kerr Foundation Award for playwriting and a Van Lier Playwriting Fellowship from New York Theatre Workshop.
