Biography
Hiroshi Kawaguchi was a Japanese film and television actor. Born in Tokyo on 22 August 1936, he trained at the Haiyuza acting institute after leaving Keio Gijuku High School and made his screen debut in 1956.
He appeared in more than fifty films, including Giants and Toys (1958) as Yosuke Nishi and Floating Weeds (1959) as Kiyoshi. His father, Matsutarō Kawaguchi, was a writer and executive at Daiei Film, the studio where Kawaguchi worked for much of his career. In 1960 he married actress Hitomi Nozoe.
Kawaguchi later became a television personality, appearing in series such as Key Hunter (1968–1973) and hosting the adventure programme Kawaguchi Hiroshi Tankentai. He died in Tokyo on 17 November 1987.
