Biography
Hisashi Kimura (also credited as 木村尚) is a Japanese film and television director. Born in 1967 in Tokyo, he graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Fuji High School and the Japan Film School. He began his career as an assistant director, working on projects including Gamera 2: Advent of Legion (1996).
Kimura made his feature directorial debut with ATARU The First Love & The Last Kill (2013). He is known for directing episodes of the TRICK series and other television dramas such as ATARU and 99.9-刑事専門弁護士-, as well as films including Sadako DX (2022), Masked Ward (2020) and Murder at Shijinso (2019). He has received drama academy awards for his television work.
