Biography
Howard Gewirtz is an American television writer and producer. His credits span several decades and include work on Taxi, Wings, The Larry Sanders Show, Just Shoot Me!, The Simpsons and Everybody Hates Chris.
Gewirtz was born on 26 January 1952 in Rego Park, Queens, New York. He began his career writing for series such as Busting Loose and Three's Company in the late 1970s and early 1980s, later serving as a producer on Taxi. He created the Fox sitcom Oliver Beene (2003–2004) and was an executive producer on the first season of Everybody Hates Chris (2005), for which he also wrote an episode. He is the uncle of writer Brian Gewirtz.
