Biography
Ian Petrella is an American actor and puppeteer, born on 17 December 1974 in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for playing Randy Parker, the younger brother of Ralphie, in the 1983 film A Christmas Story. He reprised the role in the 2022 sequel A Christmas Story Christmas.
Petrella began acting as a child, appearing in television series including CHiPs, Diff'rent Strokes, Who's the Boss? and Beverly Hills, 90210. He has also worked in animation and puppetry, and studied improv at the Groundlings in Los Angeles. In 2010–2011 he served as a guest tour guide at the A Christmas Story House in Cleveland, Ohio, where he now resides.
