Biography
Iga Cembrzyńska (born Maria Elżbieta Cembrzyńska) was a Polish actress. She was born on 2 July 1939 in Radom and died on 30 July 2026 in Wejherowo. She studied philosophy briefly at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń before graduating from the National Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw in 1962. She performed in Warsaw theatres including Teatr Powszechny, Teatr Komedia and Teatr Ateneum.
Cembrzyńska appeared as Princess Emina in Wojciech Jerzy Has’s The Saragossa Manuscript (1965). She worked extensively with her husband, director Andrzej Kondratiuk, appearing in and producing many of his films through her company Iga Film. She also had roles in films such as Salto (1965) and Jowita (1967), and was active as a singer in the 1960s.
She was previously married to Andrzej Kasia and was married to Kondratiuk from the early 1980s until his death in 2016.
