Biography
Ilona Rodgers (born 28 April 1942) is a British actress. Born in Harrogate, Yorkshire, she trained at the Bristol Old Vic Drama School and began her career on stage in Yorkshire and Bath. Her early screen work included roles in British television series such as Carol in Doctor Who (1964), appearances in The Avengers (1961) and The Saint (1962), and the film Salt and Pepper (1968).
Rodgers emigrated to New Zealand in 1973. She has worked in New Zealand and Australian productions, including Hunter's Gold (1977), Sara Dane (1982), for which she received a Logie Award for Best Supporting Actress, Utu (1983) as Emily, and the series Gloss (1987–1990) as Maxine Redfern. Her stage credits include Shirley Valentine and works by Roger Hall and Edward Albee.
She has made guest appearances in international series including Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995), Power Rangers (1993) and The Brokenwood Mysteries (2014). Rodgers has continued acting into the 2020s, with roles in Dirty Laundry (2016) and My Life Is Murder (2024).
