Biography
Ilse Pagé was a German actress. Born in Berlin on 29 May 1939, she received private acting tuition and studied at the Max Reinhardt School of Performing Arts. Her first film role was the lead in the 1957 DEFA production Berlin – Ecke Schönhauser.
Pagé appeared in more than fifty film and television productions, often in comedic parts. She performed at the Berlin Schiller Theater from 1959 to 1966 and featured in several Edgar Wallace crime films. In 1979 she played Gretchen Scheffler in Volker Schlöndorff's The Tin Drum. She also worked extensively as a voice actress, dubbing films into German.
In 1981 Pagé received the Filmband in Gold for her role in Engel aus Eisen. Her screen career spanned from 1957 to 1993. She died in Berlin on 19 June 2017.
