Biography
Irena Melcer is a Polish actress working in theatre, film and television. Born on 2 May 1991 in Gdynia, she began performing as a child with Teatr Muzyczny Junior at the Musical Theatre in Gdynia and studied violin. She graduated from the Academy of Theatre in Warsaw in 2016.
Melcer made her film debut in 2014 in Jan Jakub Kolski’s Serce, serduszko. She has appeared in Kamienie na szaniec (2014) as Danuta “Duśka” Bytnar, Andrzej Wajda’s Powidoki (2016) as Jadzia, Jasmila Žbanić’s Quo vadis Aida? (2020) as Anna, Irena’s Vow (2023) as Zosia, and the series 1670 (2023) as Regina. She received the Grand Prix and Journalists’ Award at the 35th Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej and a nomination for the Machulski Award for her leading role in the short film Ukołysz mnie.
