Biography
Irving Ruan is a writer. He wrote for the AMC series The Audacity (2026) and served as staff writer on the Peacock series Twisted Metal (2023).
Born in Sichuan, China and raised in Montana and Southern California, Ruan is a contributing writer for The New Yorker. He is an alum of the improv, sketch and satire programme at The Second City in Chicago. He was a recipient of the Warner Brothers Discovery Access Writing Fellowship from 2021 to 2023 and was named to The Tracking Board’s Next List in 2022. Ruan previously worked as a software engineer after earning a B.S. in Computer Science from UCSD.
