Biography
Ivan Goff was an Australian screenwriter. Born in Perth in 1910, he worked as a journalist before moving to Hollywood, where he became a correspondent for British newspapers in the 1930s. He began his screenwriting career in the early 1940s.
Goff's long collaboration with Ben Roberts, which lasted nearly forty years, produced the screenplay for White Heat (1949), as well as scripts for Captain Horatio Hornblower R.N. (1951), Man of a Thousand Faces (1957) and Midnight Lace (1960). The pair created the television series Charlie's Angels (1976) and produced Mannix (1967–75). Goff served as president of the screen writers council of the Screen Writers Guild. He died in Santa Monica, California, in 1999.
