Biography
Ivana Karbanová is a Czech actress. Born on 17 August 1944 in Prague, she worked as a salesclerk before entering film.
She is best known for her role as Marie II (the blonde) in Věra Chytilová’s Daisies (Sedmikrásky, 1966), a landmark of the Czechoslovak New Wave. Neither she nor co-star Jitka Cerhová was a professional actress at the time of casting.
Karbanová appeared in a small number of other Czechoslovak films in the mid-to-late 1960s, including Martyrs of Love (1967) and A Pact with the Devil (1967).
