Biography
Jack Warner, born Horace John Waters, was an English film and television actor. He played the Superintendent in the 1955 Ealing comedy The Ladykillers.
Warner began in music hall and radio, alongside his sisters Elsie and Doris Waters, who performed as Gert and Daisy. He became known for portraying PC George Dixon in the 1950 film The Blue Lamp and the BBC series Dixon of Dock Green (1955–1976). Other notable roles include Jorkins in Scrooge (1951), Inspector Lomax in The Quatermass Xperiment (1955) and appearances in the Huggetts family films.
Warner was appointed an OBE in 1965. He died in London in 1981.
