Biography
Jackie Searl was an American actor. Born John E. Searl on 7 July 1921 in Anaheim, California, he began performing on local Los Angeles radio at the age of three. His first film role came in Daughters of Desire (1929).
As a child actor he appeared in Tom Sawyer (1930), Huckleberry Finn (1931), Skippy (1931), Alice in Wonderland (1933) and Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936). He served in the US Army during the Second World War. In the 1940s he took supporting roles, including Jasper Martin in The Paleface (1948).
After a period away from acting, Searl returned in the early 1960s with character parts, often as supporting villains, in films such as The Couch (1962) and on television series including Perry Mason and Gunsmoke. He retired in the 1970s and died on 29 April 1991 in Tujunga, California.
