Biography
Jacqueline Laurent, born Jacqueline Suzanne Janin, was a French actress. She began her screen career in the mid-1930s, appearing under the name Jacqueline Sylvère before adopting Laurent.
She is best known for playing Françoise in Marcel Carné’s Daybreak (1939), opposite Jean Gabin. Her other credits include Sarati the Terrible (1937), Judge Hardy’s Children (1938), L’homme qui joue avec le feu (1942), Addio, amore! (1943) and Le vie del peccato (1946). She worked in both French and Italian cinema and retired from acting in the mid-1960s.
