Biography
Jacques Baumer, born Jacques Henri Nusbaumer, was a French actor and theatre director. He had an established stage career before entering cinema at the age of 47, debuting in film in 1932.
He appeared in more than forty films, often in supporting roles, and worked with directors including Julien Duvivier in La Belle Équipe (1936), Marcel Carné in Daybreak (1939), where he played Le commissaire, Henri Decoin in Les Inconnus dans la maison (1942) and Yves Allégret in Manèges (1949). He was also noted for theatre direction and performances.
Baumer died in 1951. He was married to actress Marguerite Pierry.
