Biography
Jacques Vergès (1925–2013) was a French-Algerian lawyer and political activist who appeared as himself in several documentaries. He is credited as Self in Hôtel Terminus: The Life and Times of Klaus Barbie (1988), directed by Marcel Ophüls.
Vergès gained prominence defending clients in high-profile cases, including FLN militants during the Algerian War and later figures such as Klaus Barbie. He is also featured in Terror's Advocate (2007). Born in Ubon Ratchathani, Siam (now Thailand), to a Vietnamese mother and French father, he died in Paris.
