Biography
Jacques Viot (1898–1973) was a French novelist and screenwriter. He began writing screenplays in the mid-1930s and collaborated with directors including Marcel Carné, Jacques Feyder and Marcel Camus.
His credits include the original scenario for Daybreak (1939), screenplay for The Long Night (1947) and contributions to Black Orpheus (1959). After the Second World War he studied at HEC Paris and later worked in insurance in Nantes.
